Alfred A. Moore, of Portage, passed away Monday, May 21, 2007 at Porter
Portage Hospital Campus, Portage. He was 77.
He was born Feb. 22, 1930 in Edwardsville, Ill., the son of Clyde B. and Mary
R. (Hoppe) Moore, both of whom preceded him in death.
On July 17, 1999 in Portage he married Ruth Enloe Riegle, who survives in
Portage.
He is also survived by a daughter, Elizabeth A. (Dale) Ward, of LaPorte; two
brothers, Gerald (Rosie) Moore of LaPorte, Victor Moore of LaPorte; three
sisters, Regina Lawrence of Pennsicola, Fla., Grace (Bond) Bailey of LaPorte
and Rose (Jim) Toutlef of LaPorte and grandchildren, Gene and Brian Ward.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Henry Moore.
Alfred was a retired machine maintenance worker for Berkel, Inc. He served in
the United States Army and was a member of American Legion Post 502 and of
the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church,
Portage.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 24 at Edmonds 7 Evans
Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Interment will be at Graceland
Cemetery, Valparaiso.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. Thursday.
