Yvonne W. Rosa dies at 80

Yvonne W. Rosa, of Chesterton, passed away Oct. 12, 2006 at her residence. She was 80.

She was born April 26, 1926 in Reed City, Mich. the daughter of Ira and Gladys (Chrisler) Bates, both of whom preceded her in death.

She was the widow of Robert “Bob” Rosa who preceded her in 2004.

She is survived by a son, Allen (Ruby) Bates of Kerrville, Texas; a daughter, Bobbie (Karl) Ruthenbeck of Chesterton; a sister, Norma Sneider of Montaque, Mich.; two brothers, Scotty (Helen) Bates of Reed City, Mich. and Earl Bennet of Montaque, Mich.; three grandchildren, Tammy, Tracy and Jessi and seven great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her extended family, Larry and Darlene Peterson, Daryl Peterson and Dana Peterson Shreve, all of Chesterton.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Bates.

Yvonne was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 2511. She loved watching wild life, gardening, flowers and cooking.

A gathering of friends and family will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18 at V.F.W. Post 2511, 1290 Wagner Rd., Porter. Cremation at Heritage Crematory, Portage.

Memorials may be made to the Porter County Hospice Center, 501 Marquette St., Valparaiso, IN 46384.
