Stephen J. Sosh III dies at 61

Stephen J. Sosh III, of Chesterton, passed away Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006 at his residence. He was 61.

He was born March 13, 1945 in Gary, the son of Stephen J. Jr. and Mary Anna (Chernich) Sosh, both of whom preceded him in death.

His wife Viola Sosh preceded him in death in 2003.

He is survived by two sons, David (Stacy) Sosh of Waveland and Michael (Dorothy) Kominakis of Valparaiso; two daughters, Carol Neely of Crown Point and Diane Fennell of Chesterton; a sister, Josephine Lilja of Merrillville; three brothers, Peter (Maria) Sosh of Kokomo, Henry Sosh of Valparaiso and Robert Sosh of Wis.; nine grandchildren, Chloe Allison, Emma and Elijah Sosh, Ryan and William Kominakis, Cari (Patrick) Hartley, Conrad Neely and Jonathan and Jennifer Fennell and extended family James Fennell of Porter.

He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bob Neely.

Stephen was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the American Legion Post 170 and the National Rifle Association. He was a collector of fire arms and John Deere tractors. He was a former member of the Westchester Horseshoe League.

A funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Interment will be private.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Indiana Volunteer Fire Fighters Assoc.
