Rosalie Roop dies at 54

Rosalie Roop, 54, of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, Nov. 6, 2006 at the VNA Hospice Center, after a long, courageous battle with a brain tumor.

She was born Feb. 18, 1952 in Gary, the daughter of Victor and Victoria Stanzione. Her mother preceded her in death.

On May 3, 1985, she married William Roop who survives in Valparaiso.

She is also survived by six children, Jason (Nicole) Moloney, Christina (Zane) Griffin of Chesterton, Tim, Brad, Amanda and Bill Roop Jr., all of Valparaiso; two grandchildren, Ben Moloney of Chesterton and Samantha Roop of Valparaiso; two sisters, Frances (Stan) Fickle of Indianapolis and Mary Goszewski of Chesterton; a brother, Paul (Jamie) Stanzione of Chesterton and several nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.

Rosalie was a home maker. She enjoyed baking, shopping and caring for her family.

Funeral services, Pastor Mike Cloud officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso. Entombment will follow at Graceland Cemetery Mausoleum.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice, 501 Marquette, Valparaiso.
