Penny S. Hill dies at 57

Penny S. Hill, 57, of Chesterton, formerly of Rochester, Ind., passed away Oct. 6, 2006 at her residence. She had been in failing health since Dec. 2005.

She was born July 31, 1949 in Rochester, the daughter of Donald and Marjorie (Harvey) Doering. Donald survives in Sanford, Fla. and Marjorie preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, David B. (Tamara) Hill of Chesterton; two granddaughters, Megan Hill and Hannah Hill, both of Chesterton; companion, Larry Sutton of Akron, Ind.; a sister, Terri (Joe) Hawks of Indianapolis; six aunts, Donnabelle Rogers and Doris (Norman) Warner, all of Rochester; Betty (Doyle) Putman of Argo, Ind.; Carol Kindig and Barbara (Mike) Holloway, all of Mentone, Ind. and Linda Brenan of Palmdale, Calif. and step-father, Frances Cave of Fla.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Robin Dague.

Penny was employed by JESSE, as a teacher’s aid in the Rochester School System for a number of years. She enjoyed traveling, boating and all water sports.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 10 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester. Interment will be in Fulton Cemetery, Fulton, Ind.

Visitation will be from 3-8 EST Monday and one hour prior to services in the funeral home Tuesday.
