Martha M. Minnich dies at 58

Martha M. Minnich, of Clara, Pa., formerly of Chesterton, passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006 in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Cloudersport, Pa. after a long illness.

She was born Oct. 23, 1948 in Valparaiso the daughter of Paul and Theresa (Sawyer) McDonald both of whom preceded her in death.

On Aug. 14, 2004 in Valparaiso, she married James A. Minnich, who survives.

She is also survived by a daughter, Kathryn A. Hrapek of Chesterton; a son, Michael O. Griffith of Chesterton; a grandson, Kieran D. Griffith of Valparaiso; a granddaughter, Brennah M. Griffith of Valparaiso; two sisters, Carol (Allen) McCreery of Valparaiso and Delores (Don) Thomas of South Bend and several nieces and nephews.

Martha was a graduate of Valparaiso High School, Class of 1966. She was employed as a travel agent in Chesterton for many years. She was a member of the Presbyterian faith. She loved to travel, cook, do needlepoint and cross stitch. She made afghans for her family members. Her greatest love was her family.

Funeral services, Rev. Thomas M. Shatto, chaplain of Potter County Hospice officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov., 8 at Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, Pa. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse, Pa.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
