Marta L. Cooper dies at 42

Marta L. Cooper, of Chesterton, passed away Monday evening, Nov. 6, 2006 at her home. She was 42.

She was born Aug. 30, 1964 in Valparaiso, the daughter of Larry L. and Martha (Myers) Whisler, both of whom survived in Coatsville, Mo.

On Jan. 28, 1989 in Chesterton, she married Troy A. Cooper, who survives in Chesterton.

She is also survived by children Deztany (Bernard) Breese and Christina (Frank) Emmart both of Portage and Adam and Mara Cooper both of Chesterton; two brothers, David (Shelia) Whisler of Chesterton and Daniel (Adalina) Whisler of Ottumwa, Iowa; two sisters, Melanie (Brian) Dickson of Chesterton and Melissa (Octavio) Salcedo-Munoz of Multon, Iowa; five grandchildren, Bernie, Zane, Wezley and Jadelyn Breese and Alanis Emmart and several nieces and nephews.

Marta was a graduate of Chesterton High School. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Chesterton and was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #20.

Funeral services, Rev. Britt Leslie officiating, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Cremation will be at Calvary Crematory, Portage.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to a fund being established for her children.
