Marc Ellis, of Chesterton, passed away Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006 at his residence. He was 58.

He was born April 15, 1948 in Gary, the son of Earl E. Ellis, who preceded him in death and Alberta Jean (Schultz) Ellis, who survives in Porter.

He is also survived by his life partner Dennis Kniat of Chesterton; a sister, Gwynne (Joel) Schwartz of Chesterton; brothers, David (Marsha) Ellis and Daniel (Shelley) Ellis, both of Chesterton; nieces and nephews, Joshua, Erron and Elissa Ellis, Natalie and Doug Schwartz, Cori, Jacob and Lauren Ellis.

Marc was employed as an employment specialist at Kankakee Valley Workforce Development. He was a life long area resident. He enjoyed gardening and was an accomplished piano player.

Private family services will be at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Cremation will occur after services.

Memorials may be made to Porter County Cancer Society.
