Louise (Lindquist) Hyden dies at 88

Former resident Louise (Lindquist) Hyden passed away Nov. 19, 2006 in Tenn. She was 88.

Growing up, her father ran a cobbler’s shop on Second St. in Chesterton. She was married to Kenneth Hyden, also deceased. They had retired to Ft. Pierce, Fla. Louise had recently moved, along with their son, Arthur (Carol) Hyden, to Tenn.

Louise was a long-time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She and Ken ran the “Nibble Nook” (a tiny sandwich and candy shop across from the old Chesterton High School). Louise and several other ladies ran Brown’s Dairy drive-through on Broadway. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters, the ladies branch of the Knights of Pythias.

Her ashes will be returned to Chesterton Cemetery to join those of her husband.
