Laura 'Solley' Blackstad dies at 48

Laura (Solley) Blackstad, of Chesterton, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006 at VNA Horton Hospice Center, Valparaiso. She was 48.

She was born Oct. 3, 1958 in Lineville, Ala. the daughter of Pauline (Lamberth) Solley of Chesterton and V.T. Solley, who preceded her in death.

On May 27, 1985 in Crestview, Fla., she married Ernest R. Blackstad, who survives in Chesterton.

She is also survived by a daughter, Jessica Ambrozy of Chesterton; three sons, Joshua (Tammy) Ambrozy of Klamath Falls, Ore., Richard Keith (Sarah) Blackstad of Rogue River, Ore. and Corey M. Blackstad, of Chesterton; four grandchildren, Brandon and Lindsey Ambrozy and Thomas and Robert Blackstad; seven siblings, Evelyn Ekstrom of Porter, Alma (Bob) Rabe of Westville, Sharon King of South Bend, Becky Weiandt of Chesterton, Delinda Taylor of Chesterton, John (Kathy) Solley of Valparaiso and Cheryl Wilson of Fla.; 11 nieces, six nephews, 17 great nieces and 11 great nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Jane and a brother, Danny.

Laura was a homemaker.

Funeral services, Pastor Rick Henderson officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday, at the White-Love Funeral Home.
