Janice M. Waugh, of Merrillville, formerly of Chesterton, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006 at her residence. She was 81.

She was born May 17, 1925 in Porter, the daughter of Frank and Myrtle (Spencer) Swanson, both of whom preceded her in death.

On May 25, 1944 in Porter, she married Raymond Waugh, who preceded her in death Aug. 22, 1990.

She is survived by a daughter Joy (Robert) O’Donnell of Schererville; a brother, Arthur Swanson of Fairless Hills, Pa.; grandson, Todd M. Waugh of Phoenix, Ariz.; beloved friend and confidant, Doris Balcerak of Merrillville and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Waugh in 1995.

She was a home maker and member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Graveside services will be announced at a later date. Cremation at Heritage Crematory, Portage.

There will be no visitation.
