James D. Jernigan, PhD., dies at 50

James D. Jernigan, Ph.D., 50, an INVISTA Product Safety Manager, passed away Christmas morning at his home. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 AM, at The Church of the Nativity, Bibb Chapel, Huntsville with Father Steve Mosher officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Laughlin Service Funeral Home is handling local arrangements.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betsy, and his son, John; mother, Mary Evelyn Jernigan of Madison, AL; father, James John Jernigan of Greenville, AL and sister, Karen Jernigan of Madison, AL.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Jernigan. He received his Undergraduate and Doctoral degrees from Vanderbilt University and served as a Captain in the U. S. Army Chemical Corp. He was formerly of Huntsville, AL and lived 17 years in Chesterton, Indiana.
