Emidio A. Orsolini dies at 79

Emidio A. Orsolini, of Chesterton, passed away Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus, Valparaiso. He was 79.

He was born April 23, 1927 in Daisytown, Pa., the son of Marino and Louise (Ventura) Orsolini, both of whom preceded him in death.

On Aug. 19, 1950, he married Anatasia “Nell” Bakay, who survives in Chesterton.

He is also survived by a son Jeffrey Orsolini of Chesterton; three daughters, Christina Orsolini, Debra Orsolini and Monique Orsolini, all of Chesterton; a sister, Joan Glab of California, Pa. and two grandchildren, Elizabeth (Dustin) Ternet of Lebanon, Ind. and Anthony Orsolini of Portage.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Emidio Mark Orsolini, and a grandson, Mark Orsolini.

Emidio was a supervisor at Bethlehem Steel Hot Strip Mill Roll Shop for 30 years. He retired in 1986. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed working on his computer and was an avid gardener. He enjoyed being with his family and was a very devoted husband and father. He was a member of the Chesterton American Legion Post 170.

A Mass of Christian Burial, Fr. Terry Bennis officiating, will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 31 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Rd., Chesterton. Cremation will follow at Heritage Crematory, Portage.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. with a Wake service at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.
