Edward H. Gloyeske dies at 94

Edward H. Gloyeske died Saturday, October 21, 2006, at the age of 94, at the Life Care Center in Valparaiso.

He was born November 13, 1911, in Valparaiso, to the late Theodore and Josephine (Putchaven) Gloyeske.

A life-long resident of Valparaiso, he married Virginia Miller on October 19, 1946, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia and brothers and sisters Anthony, Clara, Joseph, Theodore Jr., Ann, Ben, Leo and Sylvester.

He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Gloyeske retired from General Construction Company of Valparaiso and was a farmer and milk truck driver.

He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, the Valparaiso Knights of Columbus Council 738, third degree.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 9:30 a.m. from Dykes Funeral Home, 2305 N. Campbell St., for a 10 a.m. Mass at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1855 Harrison Blvd., with Father Joseph Pawlowski officiating.

Friends may call Tuesday, Oct. 24 from 3 to 7 p.m., with a wake service at 5 p.m., at Dykes Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church Education Fund.
