Dr. Robert E. Jeffers, PhD dies at 46

Dr. Robert E. Jeffers, Ph.D., of LaPorte, formerly of South Bend, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006 at Hospice House, South Bend. He was 46.

He was born Sept. 4, 1960 in Pomeroy, Ohio, the son of Thomas E. Jeffers of LaPorte and Henrietta (Ackney) Jeffers, who preceded him in death.

He is also survived by a sister, Brenda (Darren) Bissonnette of Chesterton; a grandmother, Mildred Jeffers of Dexter, Ohio; two nieces and one nephew.

He was also preceded in death by three grandparents.

Robert was employed as a child psychologist at Madison Center in South Bend. He enjoyed softball, reading, fishing, hunting and following his nieces’ and nephews’ athletic events.

Funeral services, Rev. Barry Brown officiating, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3 at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte. Interment will be at Standish Cemetery, Dexter, Ohio.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Thursday at Haverstock Funeral Home and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, 601 W. Edison St., Mishawaka, IN 46545.
