Christopher Michael Svencner dies at 14

Christopher Michael Svencner, age 14, of Orland, Ind. died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in LaGrange County, Ind.

He was born Sept. 9, 1992 in Mattoon, Ill., the son of Frank and Veronica (Tomlin) Svencner, who survive in Orland.

He is also survived by grandparents, Ralph and Georgeann Tomlin of Orland, Frank and Virginia Svencner of Crown Point, and Darlene and Donald Blazejewski of Sun City, Ariz.; great-grandmother, Cecilia Tomlin of Peoria, Ill., brother, Kenneth Svencner at home and aunts and uncles, Matt and Canda Tomlin, Michelle Tomlin, George Tomlin, Bob and Donna Svencner, Kim and Ted Pietraszak and Dorie and Donnie Zelyan and several cousins.

The family moved to Orland in 1996. Christopher was a student at Priairie Heights School attending the seventh grade. He was a member of the soccer team and the baseball team. He was a very active member of the Boy Scouts of America and had reached the Life Scout level working toward becoming an Eagle Scout. He was a member of St. Mary of Assumption Catholic Church in Bronson and was a member of the Choir at Prairie Heights School.

Christopher enjoyed being with family and friends and enjoyed playing computer games. His major interest was in Scouting.

A Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Christopher Michael Svencner will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at St. Mary of Assumption Catholic Church in Bronson, Mich. with Rev. Fr. Richard A. Fritz officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Prayers before Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson, Mich.

The family will receive friends at the Kolcz Funeral Home from 2 - 8 p.m. Thursday where a Scripture Rosary will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
