Angela Davis nee Stainko dies at 81

Angela Davis (nee Stainko), of Hebron, passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006 at South Lake Methodist Hospital, Merrillville. She was 81.

She was born on Sept. 28, 1925 in Porter, the daughter of Louis and Cecelia (Royko) Stainko, both of whom preceded her in death.

She was the widow of Clarence W. Davis.

She is survived by a brother, Joseph Stainko of Valparaiso; a sister, Betty Stainko of Chesterton; sister-in-law Ann Stainko of Porter; good friend, Jerome Martin of Hebron and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Andrew, Stanley and Charles Stainko and a sister, Genevieve Zoliner.

Angela was a 35 year resident of Hebron and formerly of Valparaiso. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, Hebron. She was a retired employee of McGill Manufacturing in Valparaiso and retired in 1976. She was a member of the Valparaiso Eagles Lodge #2417 and the Valparaiso Women of the Moose Lodge.

Mass, Rev. Derrick Dudash officiating, was at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11 at St. Helen Catholic Church, Madison St., Hebron. Interment was at St. Paul Cemetery, Valparaiso.

Family wishes memorials to charity of choice.

Arrangements were under the direction of Dykes Funeral Home, 2305 N. Campbell St., Valparaiso.
