Alice M. Biggs dies at 85

Life-long resident Alice M. Biggs, of Jackson Twp. passed away Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006 at VNA Horton Hospice Center, Valparaiso. She was 85.

She was born Sept. 5, 1921 in Valparaiso, the daughter of Max Otto and Hilma (Lindwahl) Otto, both of whom preceded her in death.

She was the widow of Grover Biggs, who preceded her in death in 1999.

She is survived by four children, Karen Biggs of Bluffton, Donna (Victor) Volom of Jackson Twp, Roger (Martha) Biggs of Fort Worth, Texas and Tammy (John) Rittel of Jackson Twp.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Irene Vente.

Alice was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Chesterton and the Jackson Bunco Club. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Funeral services, Rev. Thelma Megill-Cobbler officiating, will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 23 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
