Timothy F. Surdyk, of Chesterton, passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005 at V.N.A. Horton Hospice Center, Valparaiso. He was 57.

He was born May 27, 1948 in Hammond, the son of Claire Surdyk of Chesterton and the late Betty Fay Surdyk.

In addition to his father Claire (Emma Bomba) Surdyk of Chesterton, he is survived by a son, Brian (Barbara) Surdyk of Charleston, S.C.; two granddaughters; two brothers, Cliff (Beth) Surdyk of Lansing, Ill. and Bruce (Janice) Surdyk of Crown Point; many nieces and nephews and two great-nephews.

Tim was a member of Chesterton Moose Lodge #1623. He was a highly decorated U.S. Marine and a Veteran of Vietnam.

Funeral services, Rev. James Meade officiating, will be at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. The service will be followed by Military Rites at 6 p.m. Cremation will follow at Calvary Crematory, Portage.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 3-6 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, Chesterton.
