Richard Thomas Musgrave, the brother of Chesterton residents, died Monday,
Nov. 21, 2005, at his home. A resident of Valparaiso, he was 71.
He was born June 4, 1934, in Gary, the son of George Thomas and Mabel (Weck)
Musgrave, who preceded him in death. On April 9, 1960, in Lowell, he married
Mary J. Miller, who also preceded him in death on Oct. 20, 2005.
He is survived by three daughters, Glenda Musgrave (Patty Vanderstelt) of
Valparaiso, Tamela McCombs of Westville, and Rose (husband Richard) Sommers
of LaCrosse, Ind.; a son, Mike Jevicky of Newala, Okla.; four grandchildren,
Michael McCombs of Hobart, and Steve, Charles, and Robert Vanderstelt of
Valparaiso; three sisters, Jean Clemas of Chesterton, Janice (husband Ivan)
Rippe of Wanatah, and Mary (Ed) Kirby of Wisconsin; and four brothers, Walt
Musgrave and Jack Musgrave, both of Chesterton, Jim Musgrave of West
Virginia, and Jerry Musgrave of South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by four siblings: Judy Davis, Sally Musgrave, Cleon
Musgrave, and Norma Wixon.
He was a member of Faith Mission Church and was employed by Chesterton
Cemetery for more than 43 years.
Funeral services, the Rev. William Kenneth Dishman officiating, are
scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. Second St.
in Chesterton. He will be interred at Chesterton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at White-Love.
Memorials may be directed to his daughter Glenda, who will donate them to a
charity yet to be determined.
