Services set for John Kaiser Jr.

John R. Kaiser Jr., of Chesterton, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005 at St. Anthony Hospital, Michigan City. He was 82.

He was born Aug. 13, 1923 in Chesterton, the son of John F. Sr. and Francis (Egnasiak) Kaiser, both of whom preceded him in death.

On July 13, 1946 in Chesterton, he married Margaret Yagelski, who survives in Chesterton.

He is survived by a son, Thomas A. Kaiser of Chesterton; a daughter, Carol Lynn (David) Shepard of Chesterton and a grandson, Ronald Shepard of Chesterton.

He was also preceded by two sisters and four brothers.

He was employed as a heater by U.S. Steel, having retired in 1982. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and a member of American Legion Chesterton Post 170.

A Mass of Christian Burial, Fr. Lawrence Heeg officiating, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Rd., Chesterton. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery, Chesterton.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., with Rosary at 7 p.m., Friday at Edmonds & Evans Funeral home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
