Service set for Edwin D. Egolf

Edwin D. Egolf, Sr. of Valparaiso died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005 at Regency Hospital in East Chicago. He was 76.

Born April 9, 1929 in Wanatah, he was the son of Charles Frank and Pearl Elizabeth (Reese) Egolf.

On April 4, 1953, he married Beverly L. Wilson, who survives in Valparaiso.

Also surviving are sons Daniel Egolf (wife Sherry) of Oklahoma, Edwin “Skip” Egolf (Patricia) of Valparaiso and Eric Egolf (Sherri Sesniak) of Chesterton; daughter Rebecca Rogers (husband Thomas) of Valparaiso; 15 grandchildren; seven great-granchildren; brothers Franklin Egolf (Shirley) of Wanatah and Lyle Egolf (Anne) of Valparaiso; and sister Connie Ward (Roger) of Booneville, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Joyce Timm and granddaughter Cassandra Rogers.

As a young man, he worked for his father at Egolf Plumbing in Wanatah. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army and a foreman at Urschel Laboratories for 38 years. He was a member of Disciples of Christ Christian Church in Valparaiso. He was a skilled handyman and was always busy.

Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 16, at 10 a.m. at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St., Valparaiso, with the Rev. David Kovalow-St. John officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.
