Richard D. Barido dies at 61

Richard D. Barido, of Chesterton, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005 at Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus, Valparaiso. He was 61.

He was born April 26, 1944 in Gary, the son of Richard and Hazel (Charlson) Barido, both of whom preceded him in death.

He is survived by two aunts, Elzene Johnson of Porter and Dorothy Barido of Michigan City and numerous cousins.

Richard was a former Special Education teacher with the Howe School System in Howe, Ind. He was an avid outdoorsman and a nature lover and a life member of the NRA. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited, the Indiana Waterfowl Assoc. and a life member of the Republican Party. Richard was an avid reader who loved history and enjoyed farming.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation will be at Heritage Crematory, Portage.

Arrangements were under the direction of Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home.
