Nora D. Snyder dies at 101

Nora D. Snyder, of Valparaiso, passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005 at Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus, Valparaiso. She was 101.

She was born March 19, 1904 in Zanesville, Ind., the daughter of August and Sophia (Bearman) Klenke, both of whom preceded her in death.

On Aug. 29, 1925, she married Harley B. Snyder, who preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1992.

She is survived by three children, Phyllis (Charles K.) Sederberg, Betty Lou (Charles F.) Black and Harley W. (Jan) Snyder, all of Valparaiso; seven grandchildren, David Sederberg, Jeffery (Karen) Sederberg, Michael C. (Patricia) Black, Robert H. (Conchita) Black, James A. (Brenda) Black, Andrew J. Snyder and Amy (Chad) Elliott; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.

Private family services, Rev. Dr. Ted Lester officiating, with entombment will be at Graceland Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso.

Memorials may be made to the Harley B. and Nora D. Snyder Memorial Fund for the benefit of Opportunity Enterprises in care of the Porter County Community Foundation.
