Mary H. McCauley dies at 51

Mary H. McCauley, of Chesterton, passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005 at Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus, Valparaiso. She was 51.

She was born Dec. 2, 1954 in McKeesport, Pa., the daughter of Richard N. Downey, who survives in Chesterton and Sara G. Fuller Downey, who preceded her in death.

On June 30, 1972 in Michigan City, she married Robert L. McCauley, who survives in Chesterton.

She is also survived by a son, Robert (Megan) McCauley, Jr. of Chesterton; two daughters, Amy McCauley of Chesterton and Sara (Nate) Williams of Valparaiso; a sister, Judy (David) David of Valparaiso; two brothers, Richard (Wendy) Downey Jr. of Drummond, Wis. and David (Terri) Downey of Chesterton; three grandchildren, Christian, Emilee and Dakota McCauley; four nieces and three nephews and special friend, Janet Wilson.

She was also preceded in death by grandparents Mary and Percy Fuller and a brother, Frank Downey.

Mary was a registered nurse. She worked for various nursing homes as well as Home Health Care Agencies.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 13 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Cremation will follow services at Heritage Crematory, Portage.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
