Madelon A. Berry dies at 89

Madelon A. Berry, of Chesterton, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005 at The Arbors Health Campus, Michigan City. She was 89.

She was born Nov. 16, 1916 in Michigan City, the daughter of Henry and Hulda (Rehbien) Heisman, both of whom preceded her in death.

On Nov. 27, 1947 in Michigan City, she married Fred Berry, who preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1975.

She is survived by a son, Alan Berry of Chesterton; two sisters, Amelia “Molly” Ladd of Michigan City and Lila Stib of Michigan City.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Olga Snyder, Irene Deneau and Min Heisman and three brothers, Herman Helsman, Harry Heisman and Rudy Heisman.

Madelon was a home maker and a member of Augsburg Lutheran Church.

Funeral services, Rev. Erik Bernth officiating, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery, Chesterton.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Friday at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to the Augsburg Church Building Fund.
