Josephine Hjelm dies at 86

Josephine Hjelm, of Chesterton, passed away Dec. 23, 2005 at the waters of Duneland, Chesterton. She was 86.

She was born July 14, 1919 in Jump River, Wis., the daughter of Louis and Flora (Warner) Olson, both of whom preceded her in death.

In 1951 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, she married Alvin Hjelm, who preceded her in death in 1998.

She is survived by a sister, Lois Francis of Burdick; a great nephew, Chipper Francis of Burdick; two nephews, Carrol (Gus) Gustafson of Chesterton and Ronald (Buck) Gustafson of Jackson Twp.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie.

Josephine was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Funeral services, Pastor Ron f officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m., Monday at White-Love Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Harbor Light Hospice or Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
