Helen Bogunovich, of Portage, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005 in Portage. She was 81.

She was born June 22, 1924 in Gary, the daughter of Michael and Josephine Munyas, both of whom preceded her in death.

On June 30, 1946 in Gary, she married George Bogunovich, who survives in Porter.

She is also survived by a son, Gordon (Dawn) Bogunovich of Chesterton; a daughter, Joann (Joseph) Cincoski of Burns Harbor; two brothers, Fred (Grace) Misko of Texas and Charles (Audrey) Lemick of Colo.; three grandchildren, Joseph Cincoski, Jamie (John) Rader and Joshua Cincoski and three great-grandchildren, Jolie, John and James Rader.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Mitch Munyas.

She retired in 2001 from Gary School Service Center after 44 years of employment. She attended Augsburg Lutheran Church in Porter.

Funeral services, Rev. Erik Bernth officiating, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Edmonds and Evans Funeral Home.
