Ethel V. Horton dies at 93

Ethel V. Horton, of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, Dec. 26, 2005 at V.N.A. Horton Hospice Center, Valparaiso. She was 93.

She was born Feb. 28, 1912 in Chicago, the daughter of Thomas and Della (Fairencamp) Vanek, both of whom preceded her in death.

On Nov. 24, 1934 in Chicago, she married Arthur B. Horton, who preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1973.

She is survived by a son, Pete (Jelaine) Horton of Sturgeon Bay, Wis.; a daughter, Polly Hix of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Tim, Travis and Jeffery Horton of Sturgeon Bay, Wis., John Horton of Seattle, Wash., Patrick Horton of Denver, Colo. and Sarah Satkoski of Valparaiso; a nephew, Robert Kephart of Valparaiso; a niece, Susan (Walt) Bukva and their children of Michigan City and special friends, Art and Virginia Bierma and their children of Valparaiso.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Kephart and a grandson, Charles R. Satkoski.

Ethel was a home maker.

There will be no visitation and no services. Cremation will be at Heritage Crematory, Portage.

Memorials may be made to the Arthur B. and Ethel V. Horton Hospice Center, 510 Marquette St., Valparaiso, Ind. 46383.

Arrangements were handled by Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, Chesterton.
