Emily Eleaner Ermert dies at 83

Emily Eleaner Ermert, of Huntingburg, Ind., died Friday, Sept. 16, 2005 at the Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. She was 83.

She was born Oct. 20, 1921 in Dale, Ind., the daughter of George and Nettie (Green) Sattler.

On May 23, 1942 at St. Paul’s Church in Holland, Ind., she married Elmer E. Ermert, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary E. Lagenour of Huntingburg, Ind.; two sons, Edward D. Ermert of St. Louis, Mo. and Gerald L. Ermert of Chesterton; 12 grandchildren, Everrett Lagenour of Holland, Jeanette Emmons of West Baden, Ind., Jeff Ermert of French Lick, Ind., John Ermert of Bedford, Ind., Doug Lagenour of Jasper, Ind., Greg Lagenour of Chesterton, Andrea Lemond of Jasper, Rodney Cardines of Chesterton, Scott Ermert, Todd Ermert and Mike Ermert, all of St. Louis, Mo. and Terry McDonald, Columbia, Ill.; 10 great grandchildren, 12 step-great grandchildren and one step-great-great grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Donald R. Ermert, two brothers, Ralph and Raymond Sattler and four sisters, Grace Wertman, Helen Burgdorf, Millie Burgdorf and Irene Sattler.

Funeral services, Rev. Jeffery Graves officiating, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Interment will follow in Mayo Cemetery near Duff, Ind.
