David W. Winn, of Monterey, Ind., died Nov. 16, 2005. He was 54.
He was born Nov. 17, 1950 in Gary, the son of Aldred Eugene and Marjorie
(Tilden) Winn.
He is survived by his Mother, Marjorie Winn of Porter; brothers Michael and
William Winn of Chesterton, Tim Winn of Porter and Don (Michele) Winn of
Chesterton; sisters, Susan Needler of Chesterton and Mary Winn of Porter;
nieces, Alisha and Carrie Winn, Amber (Pat) Baker, Nicole (Dustin) Bilby and
Hailey Needler, daughters of Mark Needler; nephew, Lenny Winn; great nieces
and nephews, Aubrey, Alonzo and Logan; good buddy, Tom (Madonna) Knudson,
with whom he lived next to the river.
Dave, known as “Super Dave” by his friends, grew up and graduated from
Chesterton High School. He was a talented man who could do a little bit of
everything. He lived in the Monterey area for the last 20 years. He enjoyed
dressing up and playing Santa Claus to the children of Monterey. Friends
would also ask Dave to go to their homes to play Santa. He worked at the
Monterey Service Station and for Zehner & Son Excavating. He will be missed
by all his friends at the Corner Tavern where he got his morning coffee and
will always be remembered as a “Real Super Dave.”
Visitation has already occurred. There will be no funeral service.
