Arthur J. Kemp dies at 93

Arthur John Kemp, of Mountain Home, Ark., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005 at Hospice House of Mountain Home. He was 93.

He was born Oct. 3, 1912 in Porter, Ind., the son of William and Lena (Michaels) Kemp, both of whom preceded him in death.

On Dec. 9, 1933 in Porter, he married Lorene Wagner, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda Kemp of Mountain Home and one grandson, David (Patti) Holley of Gladstone, Mo.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Arlene Holley and a sister, Mabel Pope.

Art was a basketball star in high school at Chesterton High School and refereed basketball throughout Indiana. He was General Sales Manager for the Western U.S., The Buick Division of General Motors. He lived in Mountain Home since moving from Harrisburg Pa, in 1968. He was a former member of the Elks and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, Rev. Kenneth Taglauer officiating, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Mountain Home, Ark.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel, Mountain Home, Ark.

Memorials may be made to Hospice House, Redeemer Lutheran Church or Stephens Ministry.
