Shirley E. Tweddell services set

Shirley E. Tweddell, of Michigan City, died Oct. 22, 2004 at St. Anthony Memorial health Centers. She was 71.

She was born July 29, 1933 in Pelston, Mich. the daughter of Elmer and Louise (Bell) Hellman, both of whom preceded her in death.

On Jan. 28, 1955 in Chesterton, she married Morgan Tweddell, who survives.

She is also survived by two daughters, Jill (Donnie) Ballou of Lansing, Mich. and Jennifer (Bill) Lint of St. Paul, Minn.; two sons, Timothy Tweddell and Stephen Tweddell, both of Michigan City; three brothers, Ed Hellman of Ft. Wayne, John (Verna) Hellman of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Earl (Lois) Hellman of Port Richey, Fla.; a sister, Marilyn (Mel) Young of Michigan City; two granddaughters, Alice Ballou and Rachel Ballou, both of Lansing, Mich.; a grandson, Anthony Ballou, of Lansing, Mich.; two sisters-in-law, Biv Hellman of Michigan City and Marianne Hellman of Chesterton.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Dale Hellman and a son-in-law, Stanley Shold.

She attended Freedom Missionary Baptist Church of Michigan City and was a retired bookkeeper and homemaker.

A funeral, Pastor Terry McKinney, was conducted Monday at 10 a.m. at Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, Michigan City. Interment was at Chesterton Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Assoc., 7363 E. 21st St., Indianapolis.

Arrangements were under the direction of Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City.
