Robert B Ruppert dies at 89

Robert B. Ruppert, of Valparaiso died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004 at V.N.A. Horton Hospice Center, Valparaiso. He was 89.

He was born Nov. 17, 1914 in Chicago, the son of Harry and Alice (Beattie) Ruppert, both of whom preceded him in death.

In 1944 in Chicago, he married Marian E. Entler, who preceded him in death Feb. 8, 2003.

He is survived by two sons, Don Ruppert of Elkhart and John (Barbara) Ruppert of Valparaiso; a daughter Sandra (Bill) Hussey of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Harry J. Ruppert Jr. and a sister, Florence Ruppert.

He was retired from U.S. Steel, where he was employed as a foreman. He was a member of Orak Shrine Scottish Rite Calumet Lodge #379.

A funeral service, Rev. Edward Mitchell officiating, will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday with Masonic Service at 7 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.

Memorials may be sent to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
