Mildred Ellen (Forstch) Bishop, 88, Canon City, Colorado, died Dec. 17, 2004, in Pueblo, Colorado.

She was born July 13, 1916 in Sumner, Iowa, the daughter of William and Ella (Meska) Fortsch.

On April 22, 1939 in Michigan City, she married Michael Clement Bishop.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Seebeck, Canon City, Colo.; granddaughter Karen Seebeck-Keeler and husband Robert Keeler of Omaha, Neb.; a grandson Michael (Lidia) Seebeck; a great-grandson John Seebeck, both of Riverside, Calif.; sisters Bettie Van Daele, Fairbank, Iowa, and Irene Carey, Maynard, Iowa; a brother, E. James Fortsch and wife Carmel, Oelwein, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; children Michael C. Jr. and Sharon; her parents; sisters Loretta VandeVorde, Idella Fortsch, Luella Fowler, Velma Wagner, Thelma Brant, Lorna Jean Matthews; and brother Donald Fortsch.

Recitation of the Rosary and Funeral Mass were Thursday, Dec. 23, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Canon City, Colo., with Father James King as Celebrant. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Chesterton.
