Kenneth L. Oglesby, age 42, of Seymour, Tenn., formerly of Valparaiso, died Aug. 15, 2004 as a result of a boating accident.

He was born Dec. 13, 1961, the son of John and Donna (Lamb) Oglesby, who survive.

On December 27, 1986, he married Julie Bach, daughter of Paul and Linda Bach, who survives along with two sons, Ryan age 13, and Austin age 9.

He is also survived by one brother, John L. (Margo) Oglesby of Valparaiso; aunts, Ginny Miller of Garden Grove, Calif., Sue (Richard) Rubino of Lake Station and Peg (Glen) Waller of Okla.; uncles, Richard Oglesby of Hobart, and Robert and Charles (Mary) Stang of Lowell and three nieces, two nephews, 21 cousins and many friends.

Ken was a graduate of Valparaiso High School, class of 1980. He earned his degree from Indiana University in 1986 and began working for Sea Ray Boats in Knoxville. He transferred to Phoenix, Ariz. but returned to the Knoxville plant. In his 18 years of employment with Sea Ray, he rose from supervisor to Vice President/General Manager of the Riverview Division, where he was respected for his integrity. Ken was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was also a devoted family man, highly active in his children’s athletic activities.

A funeral service, Rev. Jim Knowles officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Atchley’s Seymour Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Atchley Funeral Home Seymour, 122 Peacock Court, Seymour, Tenn. 37865 (577-2807).
