J. Michael Heagy dies at 60

Former Senior Editor of Public Affairs for Bethlehem Steel Company, J. Michael Heagy, of LaPorte, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004 at his home. He was 60.

He was born Sept. 6, 1944 in Lebanon, Pa. the son of the late John Heagy and Louise (Bowman) Heagy, who survives in Cornwell, Pa.

On May 19, 1967 in Morristown, N.J., he married Carol K. Kirk, who survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Michael Christopher (Paula) Heagy of Louisville, Ky., Shannon (Regina) Heagy of Carmel, Ind.; four grandchildren, Jackson, Bryce, Travis and Kylie and a brother, Philip (Jan) Heagy of Houston, Texas.

He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the LaPorte County Library. He was a graduate of Rider College, Lawrenceville, N.J. with a BA degree.

A funeral service will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11 at Cutler Funeral Home. Interment will take place at a later time.

Visitation will be Saturday from 3 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m.
