Helen Henry dies at 95

Helen Henry, of Chesterton, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004 at the waters of Duneland Health Care Center, Chesterton. She was 95.

She was born Feb. 26, 1909, in Chicago, the daughter Joseph and Susan (Podzibany) Michalcik, both of whom preceded her in death.

In 1941 in Gary, she married Wayne J. Henry, who preceded her in death in 1957.

She is survived by two sons, Wayne I. Henry (Mary Wheeler) of Dollar Bay, Mich. and Erland P. (Diann) Henry of Knox; two grandchildren, Ryan Henry and Rachel Bowers and four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Natallie, Ross and Olivia.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Michalcik and a sister, Irene Juszkiewicz.

She was a former member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She worked for the Duneland School Corporation in the school cafeteria. She was a member of the Better Living Guild, Eastern Star and the Birthday Club. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and crafting.

Funeral services, Pastor Michael Cobbler officiating, will be at noon, Tuesday, Nov. 9 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon Tuesday at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.

Memorials may be made to Harbor Light Hospice.
