Helen Hamerski, of Chesterton, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 at V.N.A.
Horton Hospice Center, Valparaiso. She was 78.
She was born March 22, 1926 in Buffalo, N.Y., the daughter of Jacob and
Helen (Kaminski) Bownik, both of whom preceded her in death.
She was married to Ignatius R. Hamerski, who preceded her in death in 1974.
She is survived by a son, Ignatius R. (Darlene) Hamerski of Liberty Twp.; a
daughter, Susan (Daniel V.) Dzierba of Chesterton; four grandchildren, Scott
Dzierba of Hobart, Chad (Debbie) Dzierba of Valparaiso, Heather (Hector)
Reyes of Lake Station and Ralfie Hamerski of Fort Wayne.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
She was a resident for 11 years, coming from Buffalo. She was a home maker
and member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Westchester Senior Citizen
Club.
A funeral service, Fr. James Meade officiating, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday,
Dec. 28 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Cremation
will be at Heritage Crematory, Portage with interment of ashes at Chesterton
Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be given to V.N.A. Horton Hospice Center.
