Fredrick J. Von Huben III dies at 49

Fredrick J. Von Huben III, of Chesterton, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004 at his residence. He was 49.

He was born July 26, 1955 in Chicago, the son of Fredrick J. Jr. and Frances (Gontka) Von Huben, both of whom survive in Chesterton.

He is also survived by a brother, Jeffery (Barbara) Von Huben of Valparaiso; two sisters, Pamela (Dennis) Bailey of Rochester, Ind. and Melody (Steve) Havlin of LaPorte; two nephews, Stephen and Christopher Havlin; five nieces, Mallori Bailey, Hillary Havlin, Kimberly Bailey, Michelle and Brian Ashby; a great nephew, Brandon Ashby and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was a life-long resident. He was employed as an assembler at Commercial Vehicle System. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a former employee of Commercial Vehicle Systems in Michigan City. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial, Fr. Salveraj Selladuraj officiating, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, with a wake service at 5 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.
