The father of a Porter resident, Donald T. Bryant, 66, of Wickenburg, Ariz.,
formerly of Michigan City, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004 in Arizona.
He was born Jan. 6, 1938 in Logansport, the son of Leighton T. Bryant, who
survives in Michigan City and Helen E. Appleberry Bryant, who is deceased.
On Aug. 19, 2000, he married Karen Patricia McCauley in Wickenburg, Ariz.,
who survives in Wickenburg.
He is also survived by children, SSGT Nathaniel T. (Marilyn) Bryant, USAF of
Pittsburgh, Pa., Mark T. (Brenda) Bryant of Porter, SGT Rogan P. McCauley,
USMC of Beverly Shores and Jillian A. McCauley of Michigan City; seven
grandchildren and a sister, Carol Trent of Carrollton, Texas.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Helga R. Bryant, who died
in 1990.
Bryant was self employed as a home builder for 20 years and was currently
building homes in Ariz. He served in the U.S. Army as a medical technician
and a heavy weapons expert in Germany. He was a lifetime member of the
National Rifle Assoc. and also enjoyed politics, reading, hunting and other
shooting sports and was an avid outdoorsman.
Funeral services, Pastor Walter Hoard officiating, will be at 11 a.m.
Monday, Dec. 2 at Carlisle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenwood
Cemetery, Michigan City.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5 at Carlisle Funeral
Home, 613 Washington St., Michigan City.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Pines Bible Church, Michigan City
or Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, Ariz.
