Donald H. Petersen, Sr., of Chesterton, died Monday, May 17, 2004 at St.
Anthony Memorial Health Center, Michigan City. He was 64.
He was born Feb. 29, 1940 in Gary, the son of Max and Evelyn (Burkhart)
Petersen, both of whom preceded him in death.
On April 15, 1960 in Chula Vista, Calif, he married Barbara M. Morgan, who
preceded him in death.
He is survived by three sons, Donald Petersen, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev.,
Timothy (Gloria) Petersen Sr. of Michigan City and Michael Petersen of
Chesterton; a daughter, Brenda Lee Marie Hensley (Duane) of Portage; a
brother, Max Petersen of Knox; a sister, Darlene (Jim) Tate of Hanna; nine
grandchildren, Brad, Tim Jr., Jimmy, Carl, Donald III, Stephanie, Sarah,
Ethan and Morgan, fiancée, Patti Myers of Michigan City, beloved dog, Nikki,
numerous nieces, nephews and close friends
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Becker.
He was owner of Petersen Concrete in Chesterton. He was a U.S. Navy Seabee
and he belonged to the Chesterton Horseshoe League.
A funeral service, Rev. James Fielder officiating, will be at 11 a.m.
Thursday at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.
Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery, Chesterton.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., Wednesday at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home.
