Carl J. Borg, of Chesterton, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004 at the waters of Duneland Health Care Center, Chesterton. He was 93.

He was born Oct. 2, 1911 in Baileytown, the son of David T. and Thora (Dumby) Borg, both of whom preceded him in death.

On Oct. 24, 1936 at Augsburg Lutheran Church, he married Doris Wise.

He is survived by two sons, Donald Borg of Valparaiso and Lester (Leanna) Borg of Chesterton; two daughters, Shirley Borg of Kokomo and Arnette Borg of Chesterton; a brother, David “Bud” Borg of Chesterton; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandsons.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Theodore and Harry and two sisters, Evelyn and Juliet.

He was a life long resident and was retired from the Duneland School Corporation where he was employed as a custodian. He also worked for Bader Lumber and the Highway Department.

A funeral service, Rev. Gene Tanner officiating, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15 and Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home.
