William W Edstrom, Sr dies at 87

William W. Edstrom Sr., of Valparaiso, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003 at his residence. He was 87.

He was born Jan., 29, 1916 in Minneapolis, Minn., the son of Oscar Rudolph and Charlotte (Merritt) Edstrom, who preceded him in death.

He was married in Chicago, to Lena Schellhase, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by a son, William Jr. (Jean) Edstrom of Valparaiso.

He was an area resident for five years, coming here from South Holland, Ill. He was a Supervisor of the Electromotive Division at General Motors where he worked for 35 years. He was a member of Isaak Walton League, Portage, Marquette Yacht Club and Oak Lawn, Ill. Elks Lodge.

Funeral service will be at 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 4 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, Portage Chapel. Interment will be private.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. Thursday at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
