Robert Bob McDaniel dies

Chesterton resident Robert L. “Bob” McDaniel, 69, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 8, 1934, in Terre Haute, the son of Keith and Pauline (Paddock) McDaniel, who preceded him in death.

On July 18, 1959, at St. Michael Church in Chicago, he married Toni Nuzzo, who survives him in Chesterton.

McDaniel is also survived by two sons, Jeffrey McDaniel of Chesterton and Craig McDaniel of San Francisco, Calif.; a brother, James McDaniel of Sarasota, Fla., and two grandchildren, Jonathon and Zebulon.

McDaniel and his family moved to Chesterton in 1966 and then in 1980 they moved to California, where he worked as a contract administrator at Perkins Elmer Corporation in Foster City. On his retirement in 2000 they returned to Chesterton. McDaniel and his wife, Toni, were the owners of McDaniel’s Flowers and Gifts and most recently of Gifts Etc. in Chesterton. He was passionately interested in his home and family, decorating, floral design, painting, gardening, and antiquing. He was a 1955 graduate of Crown Point High School.

Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway in Chesterton, is arranging cremation at Heritage Crematory in Portage, with a memorial service to be announced at a later date.
