Rebecca Robbins Duvall Maus dies at 91

Rebecca Robbins Duvall Maus of Valparaiso, died September 8, 2003. She was 91.

She was born in Irwin, Penn. the daughter of Morrison J. and Pearl Altman Robbins, who preceded her in death.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Albert Gregg (Red) Duvall and her husband of 7 years, Charles William Maus.

She is survived by 2 sons, Albert Gregg Duvall of Valparaiso and Joseph Robbins Duvall of Benicia, Calif.; 2 grandchildren, Jacqueline Ann Grytza of Valparaiso and Donald Gregg Duvall of Huntley, Ill; 2 great-grandchildren, Corrin Elizabeth Grytza and Olivia Marie Grytza both of Valparaiso and a brother, Ret. Col. Morrison B. Robbins of Pittsburgh, Penn.

She was also preceded by a son, Donald Laurence Duvall and a daughter, Rebecca Jeanne Duvall.

She was a very active and caring person who lived in Robbins Station, Torrance and Blairsville, Penn., Hammond, Ind., Lansing, Ill., Naples Fla. and Valparaiso Ind. She was a graduate of Wooster College in Wooster, Ohio. She taught science at Memorial Jr. High in Lansing for 14 years. She was a deacon in the Presbyterian Church and a member of many organizations including the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Conservancy in Naples, Fla. She was a Cub Scout and 4-H Club Leader.

Memorial services, Rev. Stephen Kolderup and Rev. John Johnson officiating, are scheduled at 11 a.m. Sept. 20 at Ogden Dunes Community Church, 116 Hillcrest Rd., Ogden Dunes, IN 46368.

Memorial gifts should be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton.
