Memorial service set for Edwin Pearson

A memorial service for Edwin C. Pearson has been scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 6 at Chesterton American Legion Post, 170, 798 Wabash Ave., Chesterton.

He was a life long resident who served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a former insurance agent for Pearson Insurance Agency, who after retirement from his insurance agency, worked as a self-employed handyman. He was a member of Chesterton/Porter Rotary, a former member of Chesterton Moose Lodge #1623, Porter V.F.W. Post #2511 and Chesterton American Legion Post #170.

Edwin C. Pearson, of Chesterton, died Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Michigan City. He was 79.

He was born May 9, 1924 in Gary, the son of Edwin and Emma (Schelin) Pearson, who preceded him in death.

On July 15, 1978 in Chesterton, he married Dr. Carolyn T. Beyer, who survives in Chesterton.

He is also survived by two sons, Terry L. Pearson (Lisa Vanwanzeele) of Chesterton and Keith A. Pearson (Diana) of Portage; two daughters, Barbara McKee (Joseph) of Chesterton and Debbie Pearson (Bill Curnew) of Chicago; a step daughter, Mary Carolyn Riecke (Tom) of Fort Wayne; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Edwin.
