Margaret B. Craven dies at 87

Margaret B. Craven, 87, of Elkhart/South Bend and formerly of East Chicago, Ind. died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Sharon) Craven of Elkhart and Jerry (Deborah) Craven of Chesterton; 8 grandchildren, Andy, Gwen, Christi, Kelly, Kathy, Diane, Doug and Matthew; a sister, Frances Hozel of Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Forest “Jack” and a son, Fred.

She was a former member of the East Chicago White Eagle Club and the American Slovak Club in East Chicago and was also active in East Chicago Politics.

A funeral service, Rev. Mark Pavlina officiating, will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19 at the Lincoln Ridge Funeral Home, 7607 W. Lincoln Hwy, Schererville (U.S. Hwy 30 east of Cline Ave) with a 10 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dyer. Interment will be at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Gary.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Sisters of thHoly Cross at St. Paul’s Retirement Center in South Bend.
