Kenneth Andrew Notzen, of Chesterton, died Saturday, December 27, 2003 at
VNA Horton Hospice Center, Valparaiso. He was 64.
He was born March 27, 1939 in Chicago, the son of Joseph and Mary (Horvath)
Notzen, who preceded him in death.
On October 7, 1961 in Chicago, he married Patricia Hallahan, who survives in
Chesterton.
He is also survived by a son, John (Rachel) Notzen of Porter, a daughter
Deanna (Matt) Massa of Naperville, Ill; 4 grandchildren, Blake and Haley
Notzen and Sydney and Natalie Massa.
He was an area resident since 1974 and was an electrician retired from
Inland Steel. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of St. Patrick
Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking and home improvement projects.
A Mass of Christian Burial, Father James Meade officiating, will be at 10
a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway,
Chesterton. Cremation will follow services at Heritage Crematory, Portage
with interment of ashes at a later date at St. Patrick Cemetery, Chesterton.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., with a Wake service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday
at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to VNA Hospice of Porter County.
