Chesterton resident John P. Vivian, 89, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at the waters of Duneland.

He was born July 29, 1914, in New York, the son of John and Georgiana (Perchette) Vivian, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Vivian of Chesterton; a daughter, Stephanie (husband Charlie) Deible of Lafayette, Ind.; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

He was the owner of Superior Investments in Michigan City, served in the U.S. Air Force, attended St. Francis Episcopal Church in Chesterton, and was a member of the Michigan City Elks Club.

No funeral service or visitation is scheduled. Cremation will be held at Calvary Crematory in Portage.

Arrangements are under the direction of White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. Second St. in Chesterton.
